Computerisation and Records

The Practice uses In Practice Systems' Vision system, a Windows based system and arguably the market leader for a number of years now. We are 'paper light', with appointments and consultations going straight onto the computer and letters and reports being scanned into the Passport operating system for instant computer access. We are linked for Items of Service and Registration, and Pathlab links. Work has started to expand into electronic discharge and e-referral.

GPs and staff have NHS "Contact" e-mail addresses. Each GP has access to the Internet and E-mail from their consulting rooms.

The practice proactively offers patient choice through the employment of the NHS "Choose and Book" system.
